هي فنڪشن ڪنهن جدول جي نقل (clone) ٺاهي ٿو۔ موٽايل قدر هڪ نئون جدول هوندو، پر سڀ ذيلي جدول (subtables) ۽ فنڪشن ساڳيا ئي شيئر ٿيندا۔ ميٽا طريقا جو احترام ڪيو ويندو، پر نئين جدول وٽ پنهنجو metatable نه هوندو۔
جيڪڏهن توهان اهڙو جدول ٺاهڻ چاهيو جنهن ۾ ڪو به ذيلي جدول شيئر نه هجي ۽ ميٽا جدول به منتقل ٿئي، ته استعمال ڪريو:
